A MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE BLOG

no where without friends

Day 7 – 6/3/2015
Start – Adelaide
Finish – Adelaide
Distance traveled – 0km
Words by - Swells
Today we packed the bikes into crates ready for air freight, and as per what is quickly becoming our style, we were running a tight schedule. After starting later than we should have to perform various maintenance tasks on the bikes we were in a rush to get the bikes down to Yamaha World then to pull them apart and secured into crates before we were locked out of the yard.
There is a good story in the details of crating the bikes, but a far better story is the one of the people we met and their help, hospitality and support which without we could not have got our bikes out of the country.

Paul, Zoe, Izak and Riley welcomed us into their home providing us with a workshop, rooms and delicious food for 3 nights. It didn’t take long to feel comfortable as the sprit of hospitality quickly forged a friendship which felt as if it was much more mature than the two days we had actually known them.
Tim from Yamaha World was quick to support fellow motorcyclists jumping on our stoke wagon by instantly responding to an email request for motorbike crates. Tim stayed well after knock off time while we finished loading the bikes into their crates. Providing continuing support which will included the secure storage of our bikes for 2 days and then loading the bikes onto the freight companies truck Tim’s help has been invaluable.
Riding over 3000k’s through Australia has defiantly instilled a sense of achievement in our adventure thus far, however the confidence which has been given to us by our new friends is going to ultimately prove the greater asset as we head overseas and deeper into the unknown world of adventure…
